There are two types of slab designs
- Structural design
- Casting or layout design
Concrete planners’ offers its services to review the Structural Design of the floor and helps in the implementation of the Layout Design.
This helps in saving time and cost. And since everything is planned to perfection since its inception, it increases the life of the building. Concrete Planners’ knowledgeable and experienced guidance leads you every step of the way and offers solutions to any problem which may occur during the course of construction and ensures
Preconstruction Planning
An integral component of the Floor Slab project is the preconstruction planning process. It involves a discussion and deliberation on construction and quality issues between the principal contractor, main suppliers and the specialist flooring contractor.
Construction Practice
Each floor has a different construction method and joint layout which should be planned beforehand. From building geometry to equipment layout, joint width, levelness across joints and stability of the joint edges and surface regularity are some of the factors that should be considered.
Joints & Detailing
Joints are dependent on the use of the floor and its construction method. They are provided to subdue tensile stresses and breaks. They are highly vulnerable to damage caused by MHE and need to be regularly maintained.
Joint Layout
The main objective of an ideal joint layout plan is to minimize the risk of cracks by aligning the joints with each corner of the fixed construction elements. Slabs should be separated from fixed construction elements and joints should be positioned to minimize the trafficking from MHE and in VNA’s, joints should be positioned to avoid the wheel tracks of MHE.
Post – Construction
After casting the concrete, the new floor should be left uncovered for at least 3 days for it to gain strength and to avoid surface and joint damage. The appearance of a new floor improves with regular, mechanized cleaning. After completion of construction, sampling and compliance testing reports comprising of quality control, surface regularity, operating and maintenance manuals etc should be completed.
